We are getting a little break from the cold snowiness for the next couple of days.  Highs today in the 30's, and tomorrow it will be nearly 50!!!

What's Cookin'?

So, as I mention in my profile, I hate to cook. My mom was an  AMAZING cook but apparently I didn't inherit the gene.

For years I felt frustrated and a little guilty that I, being a woman, did not know how to cook, or at least cook well.  But then I started hearing more and more women say they are terrible cooks.
Oh my, other women can't cook either???  WOW! Oddly this makes me extremely happy.   I AM NOT ALONE!!!

 I do, however, love to eat.  Fortunately my husband is a great cook and really likes doing it.  Where I find cooking to be stressful, he finds it relaxing.  Imagine that.  He cooks, I clean up.  Cleaning is my thing.  I find cleaning relaxing.  I guess it works out o.k.  At least no one is going hungry around here.

I guess we all have our talents.  I am an avid crafter.  That's something my mother never did other than crocheting.   What is your thing?  Anyone else hate to cook?  Who is really into crafting?  I would love to hear. Please share.  Have a great Sunday.

Just the Beginning

Well, here goes nothin'. Hi all. I'm Cindy and this here is my first blog post. I know, I know, I'm am late to the party as far as blogging is concerned. I've been tossing around the idea of starting a blog for a long time and now just seemed like the right time to jump in. Better late than never I guess.
I'm from Upstate N.Y. where it is very, very, VERY cold and snowy.  Waiting
 (not so patiently) for Spring.  So, with Spring comes everything new including this blog.

I have been reading blogs for years and have been inspired by all the amazing women out in blog land. A few of my favorites are Countryfolk Keepsakes. Karin is an amazing primitive artist and her home is equally amazing. Drool worthy ya might say. Then there is Tracey Buxton over at
 Notes from a Cottage Industry. Tracey's talents will just blow you away.
Multi -talented  girl for sure.
You will love Brenda over at Cozy Little House as well. Besides being a talented writer, she is an awesome decorator , photographer and gardener. That's just a few of the many, many wonderful and inspiring blogs out there.  All three women and their blogs are very different yet all are equally amazing.  It is lady's like that who have inspired me to start my own blog (finally) and hopefully one day I will be a fraction as good as they are.

I guess my main goal here is to meet new people and hopefully make some new friends, both bloggers and readers.  Maybe we can motivate and inspire each other and share some decorating and crafting ideas. I look forward to posting and I hope you will enjoy what you find here.
